NEGARA PROPERTIES WALKABOUT: OFFICIAL VISIT BY Y.BHG DATO’ ABD WAHAB MASKAN, SENIOR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF SIME DARBY PROPERTY (SEVP, SDP) TO NEGARA PROPERTIES
31 Jan 2008, marked a milestone event for Negara Properties (M) Berhad (NPMB) as on that day Y. Bhg Dato' Abd Wahab Maskan, Senior Executive Vice President of Sime Darby Property officially announced to the assembled NPMB staff on the completion of succesful integration process of NPMB into Sime Darby Property.
In his speech to the staff, Dato’ Abd Wahab stressed on the extremely important Sime Darby’s four (4) corporate values that each staff should live by as a platform towards working together in making the newest diversified multinational in Malaysia into a global champion in property, plantations and sustainable development. He also highlighted that as part of the newest members of Sime Darby family; employees are responsible to give their full commitment in delivering and achieving the mission to make sustainability real for everyone.
Prior to that, Dato’ Abd Wahab, YM Dato’ Tunku Putra Badlishah Ibni Tunku Anuar, Executive Vice President and other Senior Management team members of Sime Darby Property attended a corporate presentation on the business activities.
They were briefed on the progress of the projects by En. Azman Mohd Soffian, Deputy General Manager of Project Management (Melawati) on the Group’s projects at Melawati Township and developments. This was followed by a brief presentation on Nilai Impian and Saujana Impian Townships’ developments by En. Hashdi Abdul Muid, Deputy General Manager of Project Management (Nilai & Saujana) and ended with an explanation of future plans and developments by En. Zamri Ahmad, Deputy General Manager of Business Development & Investment.
Dato’ Abd Wahab also met up with approximately 150 staff of NPMB, stationed at NPMB’s Head Office and Regional Business Office in a brief meet and greet session before adjourning for a short tour to Melawati Sales Gallery at Melawati Urban.1. The walkabout concluded with a lunch at the Training Room.

MELAWATI COMMUNITY FEST

Melawati Community Fest, Absolutely Fabulous!

Fun, relax and entertaining.
These three words, perfectly describe the Melawati Community Fest that was held from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on the 26th and 27th January 2008. Piazza Melawati Urban 1 was packed with people from all walks of life, mostly from Melawati, although people from other townships too, some as far as Shah Alam, found their way in.
A fun filled community event planned as part of the Marketing and Promotion campaign for Negara Properties Melawati Township community, this event also served as a sales promotion event for NP’s recently launched properties, as well as being a platform to generate future customer database.
Various activities were lined up such as coloring contest for children, sand art, spin-a-wheel of fortune, inflatable games, info hunt, and others. Served into the mix was a bubbly clown to amuse the children.
Not forgetting the adults, a host of entertainers such as Imran Ajmain, the X-Fresh FM team comprising Adi Fashla, Burn, and Julia made the crowd cheer appreciatively with their hit songs and amusing antics.
Although the weather was scorching hot, the crowd throbbed the event and was unexpectedly participative. The crowd went wild when one audience member broke into an impromptu break dance performance, accompanying the hit song “Papa Jahat” performed by the Fab Cats.
The event also saw a number of sales interests in NP’s recently launched projects with several transactions successfully concluded and providing the sales team with positive leads to follow up with.
The event was capped with a resounding band performance, playing hits from the 80’s and 90’s. All in all, it was a truly memorable event for both the organizer and the guests.

Launching of NIEXUS

NIEXUS, a revolution in learning English in Malaysia

Communication is power.
“Those who can commute their ideas and speak their minds will have more chance to succeed in today’s fast pace world.” This fact was point out by Encik Wan Hashimi Albakri Wan Ahmad Amin Jafftri, CEO of Negara Properties (M) Berhad, during the launching ceremony of NiEXUS, on 24th January 2007 in NST recently.
Realising the importance of empowering future generations of Malaysia with excellent communication skills, particularly in the English language, Negara Properties (M) Berhad initiated and sponsored NIEXUS, an online English learning portal for schools, under its NPCP Programme. In a strategic collaboration with NST, its NIE unit developed an educational and interactive portal which will provide students an interactive online English learning tool. NIEXUS which costs RM35 000, is available so far to seven schools, namely SK Taman Melawati, SK Taman Melawati II, SK Wangsa Maju, SK Saujana Impian, SK Saujana Impian II, SMK Taman Melawati and SMK Saujana Impian.
During the launch, 20 teachers from the seven schools had fun trying out the portal. From latest news of the world, to a “hang-man” game, NIEXUS provides beneficial and attractive games to improve students’ proficiency in English. Apart from the games, students are also encouraged to be more self-expressive. They can post their opinions or comments on issues concerning them, and also send their personally creative artworks such as posters and cartoons.
Considering how popular self-expressing online pages such as Facebook, Myspace, and Friendster are to the youngsters, user friendly Frontpage design tools that are provided in the portal will surely appeal to the students. Teachers will also gain from the programme since they will be trained to utilise multimedia in learning process.
NIEXUS is definitely an interactive and fun way to learn English. Kudos to Negara Properties (M) Berhad and NST for providing students with a creative learning concept to entice and enhance their English profienciency.
